Nora: I've made this promise to them

I moved to the New Orleans area in 1978.

I love the people, the whole culture, the architecture, just the whole thing here – it just gets under your skin.

There’s an energy in New Orleans you don’t find anywhere else.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, it was not a good place to be.

I lost my office in the storm.

Our customers were scattered all over the United States.

The beauty of it is that State Farm did such a good job of being there for their clients.

Our clients could go anywhere in the United States, and they could walk into a State Farm agent’s office, and not only could they get monetary assistance, but they could get somebody to hold their hand and tell them it was gonna be okay.

It’s important that you take care of them. I’ve made this promise to them, and we need to make sure that we honor that promise.

This story is just one of many unique, personal perspectives on being a State Farm® agent.
